Tryffelsvinet was founded in 2003 by Stefan Schlyter and Christer von Segebaden with the idea to start up a wine club for private customers. The primary goal was to distribute high quality and hard to find wines to true wine lovers, thus meeting the increasing demand for Fine Wines on the Swedish market. This concept was an immediate success and since then business has increased rapidly. Today Tryffelsvinet is a well known and respected name with 5500 members in the Wine Club, 8 strategic and 70 or more temporary listings per annum at Systembolaget (Monopoly) Fine Wines selection and a Restaurant partner working with more than 200 top restaurants in Sweden.
Tryffelsvinet have initially focused on high end wines from small and medium sized producers. Lately we have also been awarded the honor to represent some "big ticket producers" who believes in our passion for wine and long competence in building Brands. Our idea is to establish strong and long relationships with our producers building top Brand Image over time. Our future lies in expanding our portfolio with high quality mid to large size producers where we now are ready to offer a very strong market approach and focus to new partners. We do not intend to grow rapidly but step by step securing success to each new partner before we move on.
What further differentiates us from many other importers is that we have a very strong interface with the consumer via Tryffelsvinet Wine Club. This gives us an opportunity to offer a wide range of interesting wines where we do not depend on Systembolaget tenders etc. We are here free to select what we think is great value and then offer it to the members of our Club. Due to the partnership we have with our members substantial volumes can be achieved and consumer power is the essence of our success!!! We also have some really good success stories regarding permanent listings at SystembolagetTryffelsvinet's core business is based on distribution to three channels on the market:
-The monopoly. We have a close and good relationship with the Swedish monopoly Systembolaget and are constantly offering "Systembolaget" various products from our distributors. At present we have 8 strategic listings and some 70 temporary listings per annum
-The restaurants. We deliver wine to top restaurants all over Sweden This is an important channel to market our competence and wines. We work closely with our customers and beside wines we offer our advice and support. We have today 200 accounts and plan to have som 400 by end of 2010
-The wine club. This is the most important part of our business in terms of building Brand Image and introducing new great Wines to the Swedish market. The wine club allows us to have a direct and personal communication with more than 5000 dedicated wine lovers.
